I’m currently working on a post-doc position at LGEP that aims the development of a linear and a rotary piezoelectric motor. This work is composed of two modules, one related to the design and computer simulations of the device’s mechanical response and the other connected to the manufacturing of prototypes.

PHD

My PHD studies were carried out from the 1st October 2007 to the 30th September 2010 within the research team “COCODI” at the LGEP. This PHD was financed by the ministry of French education (MENRT).

The research topic concerned the design and fabrication of a piezoelectric actuated micro-pump. Due to the multidisciplinary nature of the subject (microfluidics, piezoelectricity, mechanics and electronics), I developed competences in the fields of piezoelectrics actuators and motors, computer assisted simulations of mechanical elements and dynamical analysis of multiphysic systems.

The objective of the PHD was to develop a new type of micropump easily adaptable to multiple applications and operating conditions in order to overcome the limitations of existing architectures. The principle of the manufactured device exploits the mechanical energy of a travelling wave excited on a flexural beam to generate motion on a fluid placed on it and enclosed by flexible channels.

This work was subject of several publications in international conferences, a review article in an European journal of physics and a patent demand.

In addition, some cooperative relationships between French laboratories were established. A first one between the LGEP and the ESPCI for the channels fabrication and a second one between the LGEP and LISV for vibration measurements.
